It all started when…

we got off the plane in Cape Town: something moved.. We both had, as many before us on their first trip to South Africa, that feeling of coming home.

2 weeks later, back to Germany, my wife sat down on a cold rainy Sunday and started flipping through real estate in the Plett area. Just trying to bring back that feeling that we so missed since returning. All the sudden she says: hey Schatz, I think I found it!

We’d always followed our gut instinct, and we both felt a very strong connection to the house. 2 weeks later it was ours! We were both relieved though, when we finally arrived in Keurbooms 4 months later and saw that it really did exist.. ;-)

We have since tried to constantly improve our home over the years, and look forward to retiring there someday.

We do not see Baviaanshoek as a self-catering rental house, but try to give it a real home away from home feeling for all our guests. A place where we ourselves would want to stay.
